I am 24 and have one child. After I had him I was on the pill for three years. I went off the pill three months age and we have been trying for two months to concieve again. I went to the doctor last month when i was a month late. he took my blood and told me I was not ovulating. He prescribed a hormone for me and about ten days later I got my period. Now I am using the ovulation prediction strips. It has been 8 days since I started my period. I have not ovulated yet, but am going to continue using them through the whole month since I have been irregular. Is anyone else going through this? Do I have any other options if I don't ovulate again?

Hi Karebear There are lots of options for women who do not ovuate - so dont worry about that. There are excellent fertility specialists around for this sort of thing.
Its not surprising that you havent O'd just yet - 8 days from when your period started is a bit early. O usually comes around the middle - eg day 14 of course though you may differ being irregular.
Good idea to use the ovulation predictor throughout the month - you will have a great shot at the egg that way
All the best!

I am going through a similar situation. Only, I was on Depo. Riki is right. If it is only 8 days since your period, you probably want to wait a little longer. Also, don't get discouraged. Some women, especially those with irregular cycles, don't always ovulate mid cycle. Sometimes it will vary.
I too am using the ovulation prediction strips. I haven't had a positive yet either, and I am at about day 13. Just keep checking. Even if you don't ovulate this time, there are still other options. Keep talking to your doc. That is a great place to get started. As long as you have an open communication, the doc can help you.
Good luck, and keep us posted!

I just assume I ovulate every month and have never been tested to see if I am or not. But I just wanted to wish you luck and I hope you get your BFP this cycle. We are TTC#3 and have been trying for over a year.

hi i am new here and i need some help. after i had my baby in aug of 2004 i got on the depo shot i only took it 2 times and i still havent had a period.. me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant since then. i have been to the ob-gyn and all the give me are pills after pills. help me.
yeah when you are not ovulating they will give you clomid but you haven't been not ovulating long enough they will usually tell you to wait a year. after i got off the pill 6 months later i was preg. so wait a little while or see what your doctor thinks. its really up to him cause he is the one prescribing it. clomid Will make you ovulate so try what he told you then you might talk to him about clomid.
