| Maybe theme the birthday party around a cartoon charachter she likes? My brother's little boy just turned 2 and they did a whole "Finding Nemo" party...cake, decorations and all! |

For my son's 1st birthday party...I thought about going with one of the themes, but then decided on "First Birthday" as our theme. I figured..."he only has one first birthday...we can do themes for his future birthdays!" At the age of 1...they really don't comprehend what is going on anyway!! LOL!! So I don't believe they appreciate all the work in finding a special theme!
Hope you come up with something soon!! |

| We are soon celebrating our daughters first birthday and have a great idea. We bought some pink cotton fabric and fabric markers and will have everyone at the party write their birthday messages to our daughter on the fabric. I wrote 'Happy 1st Birthday Love...' in the centre of the material and look forward to reading everyone's messages after the party. |

For my son's first birthday party, my theme was rubber duckys. It was great. I had rubber duckys floating in the punch bowl. I even tinted the water to make it look blue. We had a duck cake. I had to make duck invitation since I couldnt find any. I also rented a cotton candy machine. He loved it! |

| For my daughter's 1st b-day we did Elmo. She loves Elmo and takes her stuffed Elmo EVERYWHERE. I decorated everything with Sesame Street babies 1st b-day and got her a huge 3-D Elmo cake. She definately knew what was going on, everytime she saw another Elmo she would laugh hysterically. We had the balloons, a pinata (for the older kids), the cake, plates, cups...everything was Elmo. She loved it. I think if your child shows a real preference for a certain cartoon or whatever then you should go with it. We only did Elmo because she loves him so much. It was nice to see her so happy! Good luck! |

I'm so glad that everything went well! Elmo seems to be quite the favorite with little ones! Let's see what birthday #2 will bring. |
