my wife was feeding our little girl (4 months old) this morning. It was in her oatmeal cereal, from Heinz's Nature's Goodness line. My wife flipped out, needless to say, and nearly got sick. She noticed it on the spoon as it was nearing my babies mouth. It is about a 1/4 of an inch long, and maybe a cm in width. It wasn't alive. We've bagged it until we can figure out what we can do about this.
-we're calling Del Monte Headquarters in the morning...
- - -What can we do? Is there any possible legal actions that can be taken? Has this happened to anyone else before?
No this has not happened to me before, but that is really frightening to hear and disgusting. I don't know if there is anything you can do legally, but I know I wouldnt buy from them again.

That's pretty disgusting! I've always bought the Nestle cereal for my son.
You definitely need to complain to the company.......though they probabyly won't do much, maybe just send you coupons.
I don't think there is anything you can do legally since you noticed the worm before it went into her mouth------I mean what would you claim as your damages??
A couple years ago I opened a dry package of chicken noodle soup, I poured the package into the boiling water and there was worms. I have not eaten dry soup mix since. My conclusion was that they just formed almost like a fungus. b/c it was near the expire date.I never complained to the company, but you should , and as someone said you should recieve coupons and never buy that brand again and be watchful.
