Hi,
My daughter is pregnant due May 30th. She had to go inpatient a month ago due to pre term labor, they were able to stop it, give her cortazone for the babies lungs. She left the hospital dilated at 1 and 50 %. Since then a week ago Thursday she went in because she didn't feel the baby moving all was well. Sunday she went in having contractions she was 3 minutes apart and had dilated to 4 they kept her saying she would deliver any time now. She dilated to between 5 - 6 then at 4 AM Monday morning the contractions turned into inconsistant baby bumps. They discharged her late Monday morning saying we will probably see you back here tonight. Well it is Saturday and nothing yet, she is having some little discomfort. How long can this go like this? At what point should we say no more you are not discharging her?

I wish I had the medical knowledge or insight to give the answer you want, but all I can say is I hope everything goes more smoothly from this point for her and that babies often won’t come out until they’re ready. If she really doesn’t want to return home next time you go in, they should listen to that. Best wishes.
