I'm not sure if this is the same thing...but a friend's son had to have surgery on his tongue to clip the skin under the tongue. The doc said he was born that way. It seems that the skin under the tongue was too short and he was having speech problems.
I hope you are able to find out more about this problem with your son and they are able to correct it without too much trouble.
Hugs,

| My son had that same problem. When the skin under the tongue is too far to the tip. They did surgery when he was 12 months old. But really, it isn't like what you think of in the word surgery. It only took about 5 minutes. First, they gave him some medicine to knock him out. They just cut it and then sauderize it. He woke up right after they finished, and was able to eat just fine. There was just a scab for a few days and he needed some tylenol occasionally. |
