I don't know what the effect would be on a baby but I do know that anyone can be infected by WNV. It usually will make you very sick but it is only fatal to people with weak immune systems( which is why most people think it only happens to older people). Since you pass on your immune system to the baby while in the womb, it has a fair chance of fighting it- but I am not sure to tell the truth. I wouldnt take any chances though. I am worried also as they found a bird with it in my town this past week. Good luck.
