Teacher,
I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having such a rough time. I'm also very, very sorry about your loss. I will pray that God will comfort you in your sorrow and give you peace. I praise God that He entrusted you with doggy's care. Every dog should be so loved.
I have hope that you will see doggy again one day. You might want to check out the following books on Amazon:
* Do Dogs Go to Heaven? Eternal Answers for Animal Lovers by M. Jean Holmes
* Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates by Gary Kurz
* There Is Eternal Life for Animals by Niki Behrikis Shanahan
* Will I See Fido in Heaven?: Scripturally Revealing God's Eternal Plan for His Lesser Creatures by Mary Buddemeyer-Porter
* Will My Pet Go to Heaven? by Steve Wohlberg
All of these books are written by Christians and employ Scripture; however, they vary quite a bit in writing style and approach. I would encourage you to read the reviews on amazon.com if you are interested in any of them.
Also, you might enjoy reading "Sparky's Story" (link at the bottom of this page). I realize that since it's a personal story that's been posted on the web, we have to take it for what it's worth. However, I have no reason to believe it's not true.
Hang in there! We're all wishing you a wonderful birth!!!
Love,
Amy K
p.s. For anyone else who has lost a pet and is reading this message--I have confidence that your pet is in heaven. However, I hope you take some time TODAY to consider whether you'll be there, too! Visit www.needgod.com to find out how you can know for sure.
: Well, it's Tuesday the 19th and this last week has been pretty horrible. We had to put my doggy to sleep last Wednesday unexpectedly and I've been so emotional ever since. I know that many of you have been aware of the ongoing problems with her and it finally came to the end. She was just about 16 years old so it was so difficult to look into her eyes until the very end.
: Anyway, I have just 2 and 1/2 weeks to go!
: 8/19-8/25, 8/26-9/2, and then just 4 days after that is my due date. I can't believe I'm so close to the end! Since I've had all the pre-term labor problems and have been hospitalized and shot up with Brethine, it's been a strange end of the pregnancy. My contractions have been getting closer and closer together often about 5 minutes, but if they aren't below 5 minutes consistently for 2 hours then I have nothing to worry about. I don't want to be one of those women who show up at the hospital too early--I'm gonna try to wait it out.
: My doc took me off the meds today and it's been rough. DH just knows I'll go into labor this week, but I'm still holding out for after September 1st (I've really, really wanted a September baby). But either way, our baby is a big one. My doc says I'm 50% effaced and she currently weighs 7 1/2 lbs. So he really wants me to go into labor by week 39, if at all possible. LESS THAN 2 WEEKS! YIKES! We are so so excited.
: I'm sorry I haven't been on much and I've been terrible about answering my e-mails. I love you all and appreciate your e-mails and words of encouragment. You are so sweet to keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
: I've been updating my baby's website. Although it has more to go, you may visit us at the link below.
: Blessings to all!

: P.S. LISA R. I read your post below. WOW! You're 36 weeks already--I think I knew that. EDD 9-13, right? Anyway, yes, emotions are running very high here, too. Don't stress it. It's not good for your bp. Keep us posted!
