: Our four have all been unmedicated natural births. In fact they were all planned home births. I don't know enough about your recent birthing experience to comment specifically. What were the circumstances that led to it being unmedicated by accident? If it was a stressful situation and things weren't going to plan, that *may* have made things more difficult. Best wishes for your recovery and congratulations on the birth.

Hi...it's wonderful that all of your children were unmedicated births. With my first son, I had an epidural. I had planned on an epidural with this child as well, but he surprised us by coming very, very quickly. My contractions were still 6 minutes apart when we mosied on over to my doctor's office--and he told us I was 9 centimeters dilated! We rushed to the hospital and of course, they couldn't give me anything at 9 centimeters. They tried to give me oxygen but I was feeling nauseated and I ripped the oxygen mask off.

So that's why the birth was unmedicated. It really never hurt until the actual delivery.

Thanks for asking,

Mels
