...what an incredible idea. I'm going to look into it right away. I don't know why I never thought of that.
I write and edit for a trade magazine. It's pretty dry stuff, but at least I write for a living, which for me is about the most fun and easygoing way to make a living that I can imagine. It was stressful at first to return to work. I ached for Colin. I wanted to be with him. But this is best for our family b/c we just can't afford to live on one salary. Colin is with my sister during the day, which makes me pretty happy, since he knows her and he's in either my home or her home. So he's not going away to a strange place everyday. Huge relief since that's what I had to do with Joey and I still ache for Joey because of it.
Thank you so much for the idea. I'm going to check into it right now.

: Hi Mels?
: What do you edit? How is it going now that your maternity leave is over ( I read in your other post that it was stressful returning. Is it still?)
: Regarding your wish to train as a midwife, I'm sure you'd be a great one. If you're torn between giving up your established career or not, you could consider training to be a doula. This is something you could do 'on the side'. A doula is like a birth partner, without medical qualifications or responsibilities.
: I enjoy reading your posts.
