I had an unmedicated birth. I found that the pushing was far less painful than the actual contractions themselves. It was a difficult thing but I would do it again in a second. I will post my birthing story for you guys in a day or two if you are interested. The pushing for me though was more uncomfortable. It wasn't as painful as when I was transitioning but it was a really uncomfortable feeling. A good thing though really because it really gave me motivation to push really well. I pushed for 50 min.
I would highly recommend doing it unmedicated as it went fast, albeit painful but my recovery was great. I still have a bit of pain in the pelvis due to some separation problems but that would have happened regardless (so i'm told by my dr). The best advice is to go into it with an open mind. I was asking for an epidural at one point but it was too late... I'll post my whole story when I can.

Good luck with your decision.

Lisa S
