We're about to invest in one. We were looking at the Medela. The past ones were just as good as any other, but now they're coming out with one called the "symphony". A great deal of research went into making the symphony and how the suction works, etc. However, while I was in the hospital they got me an Ameda brand one to use (hospital grade). It was amazing and worked VERY well. It's also known as one of the best because it has a seal that will never allow any of the milk to get into the motor/engine. It's virtually impossible. No other breast pump has that guarantee. So far I would say either the Ameda or the Medela would be great. However, the lactation consultants say to never just buy one from a baby store like Babies R Us. They say to go to a specialty store so that you can get exactly what you want. It's mix n' match then. If you want the car adapter rather than the battery pack then you can swap it out, etc. Good luck on your choice!

Love,
