How quickly you conceive your next child is entirely up to you, but there are a couple of issues you may want to consider. One that affects everyone is the ‘stores’ of nutrients that a pregnancy drains from your body. I have heard opinions that it takes at least another 9 months after the birth for your body to replenish these.

Another issue is that your fist birth was a caesarean section. There is a limit to how many you can safely have. Many doctors will say that you should not have more than 3, though they often neglect to advise of this when recommending subsequent c-sections. You are effectively limiting the number of children you can have.

There is a lot of information available about planning a vbac (vaginal birth after caesarean) and much of it is on the internet. You may want to look into these issues before deciding how quickly you want to fall pregnant again.

Of course frequent breastfeeding would normally put a natural birth control into place anyway.

Best wishes with whatever you decide.
