After the birth of my son (Sept. 2002) I had bleeding for about 5 weeks total. I was exclusively breastfeeding for about 7 1/2 months and had no period. About 1 week after I completely finished nursing...I got my period. That is my experience, but I have several friends who had babies about the same time and all were breastfeeding....some got their period while breastfeeding and some didn't. I guess everyone is different. Hope this helps.
