: Who sets the standard for "Maternal age" ?
: I am 41 and have 7 kids and am expecting twins in February. I'm not old. I don't look old and I don't feel old, so why do people refer to women over 35 as being PAST maternal age? Hasn't anyone ever read the bible? Even my own grandmother was still having babies in her fifties and it was considered perfectly normal at that time. Why is it so different now? When you set deadlines on birthing age then you pretty much end up saying..."Hey kids, better get pregnant fast, like at age 16 so you can make it before that magic age hits and people start calling you Past Maternal LOL!!!

: All joking aside. I don't believe in a maternal age limit. I believe that if God wills it to be then it will be and if not then it won't be and I leave it in His hands :)

I couldn't agree more. I do believe conception is a miraclte and in God's hands. After 2 years of trying for baby number 2, and fertility doctors we decided to leave it in Gods hands. I am 41 years old and was starting to stres about it way too much.

thanks,
Betty
