: I was induced one day before my due date ... my blood pressure was raising and I was only 1-2 cm. dilated and had been for about 3 weeks ... with my induction, I went in at 7pm and they put gel on my cervix to soften and thin things out ... that started my contractions ... in the morning, they gave me pitocin to make my contractions stronger and more regular ... I gave birth to Anna about 9 hours after they started the pitocin ... It wasn't that bad ... but I really didnt want to be induced ... if my blood pressure didnt start getting high, I would have waited at least a week past my due date before letting them induce me ... everything turned out just fine and I know if you have to be induced it will be fine ... they can be off on the estimates of weight with ultrasound though ... so youre baby might not be as big as they are saying ... however things go, I wish you the best of luck with everything and for a quick and easy labor ... hang in there :)
