: Hi everyone! I had my baby four weeks ago...I breastfed for the first three weeks but have now switched to formula. My husband and I had unprotected sex on Saturday (although he did pull out) and now I am worried that I may be pregnant. My question is, how soon can you ovulate after having a baby?? We will be using protection from now on!

My period returned about 7 wks after the birth of my son and when I went for my 6 wk checkup with my ob-gyn she had asked if my husband and I had intercourse. When I told her yes, she did a pregnancy test even though I had not yet started my period. So I am assuming that you can still get pregnant. Also despite what many people think, you CAN get pregnant while breastfeeding.
Make sure you use protection.
