Not everyone waits a few days. It is possible to test positive several days before your period is due with todays technology. I would have a blood test done, which would be most accurate.

Why do I have to go to the bathroom so often?
You may start to notice a more frequent urge to pee soon after you discover you're pregnant. In fact, it's one of the most common early signs of pregnancy, starting about six weeks into your first trimester. Why do you suddenly need to go all the time? It's primarily because your blood volume increases dramatically when you get pregnant, which leads to a lot of extra fluid getting processed through your kidneys and ending up in your bladder. You may also eventually feel pressure on your bladder from your growing uterus.
