: : : : : I'm having problems trying to get my BF's son to learn his alpha's and numbers. He constantly watches cartoons all the time so could that be a problem of why he doesn't pay any attention to learning.I'll tell him the letter is A then i'll tell him to point at it then say the letter, then he'll say I don't know. It's like his learning span is gone. How can I help him.?He's only here for about 2-3 weeks, then he'll go home to mommy,so I don't know if she helping him.I learned my alpha's and numbers b4 the age of 4.I really need to help him. : : : : I haven't gotten to that part yet... but I can suggest make it a game... a singalong... make the learning part fun! Or even have him watch more educational cartoons that he can take back home with him. : : : Hey there my son is also 3 and a half and I have computer games done by Blues clues, the one is called Blue's 123 time activities and the other is called BLue's ABC time activities and so far my son can count to 5 and can say up to the letter E in his alphabet so these programs help alote. : : Very good question, my son has trouble too, and he goes to Head Start, his teacher says he is acting like a normal 3yr old next year he will be more in tune, so I dont worry, he knows his address, town he lives in, his full name, what the stop lights mean, and his B day so Im impressed! : Well,I started to get him to learn is alpha's and it's working.I told him if he get's this letter right 3x in a row, that i'll give him a sticker. He's working on ABCD,then tommorow it will be the next four letters etc.Thanx for your help ladies.I'm just hoping that his mom will help him out since he'll be with her for a couple of weeks,I think shehangs out with her friends and guy friends too much so,that could be why he'll forget the alpha's when he comes back.I have another question,I know I've been in this lil boy's life since he was born, but I can't handle the fact that she(hismom) says he has asthma, but I truly doubt it.When he runs around and has fun and he doesn't have weezing or breathing problems but,he still has to use a nebbie like 4x a day she says.Is she BSing us saying he really needs it.?Then at that he doesn't come with the meds for it.I'm not his mom but,I am a mom to him.I want what's best for him in life.I love him alot.I treat him like he's my own. My daughter is almost 3 and has been counting to 10 and the all ABC's since 2. Everywhere we go, I count the stairs with her. We sing the ABC's ALL the time. It's funny, when we go to the Dr. she sings her ABC's. All kids learn at differant stages. My daughter can count in spanish to 5! Thanks to Dora The Explorer! Just everytime you do something, count the steps or in the car sing the ABC'S! It works. I didn't do any of this with my son and he didn't learn any of this until 3.5 or 4. Now he's very smart, 7yrs old with a touch of dislexia though! The most important thing though is to make it a game. Don't get mad or frustrated if you've said it a thousand times and he still doesn't get it! He will!
