: : Yes cortisone does have side effects, but I believe only if used continuously for an extended period of time.

: : If it really is excema, there is no 'lotion' that will help. In fact they could make it worse.

: : Excema is an allergic reaction, either to a food, or something the baby comes into contact with. Wool can be an irritant, so can washing powders, fabric softeners, or ingredients in lotions you use.

: : Some drs think it is too hard to search for the allergen, so they only offer a treatment for the symptom instead of looking for the cause.

: : Are you breastfeeding? It could be something you are eating. You could try keeping a detailed diary of your diet, and exclude common allergens such as dairy, eggs, gluten, peanuts, seafood, one at a time, for at least 3wks each, and see if there's a difference.

: : Don't be afraid to use the cream, it may control the excema in no time at all.

: : Good luck.

: my son is 7mo. old and also has this same condititon. it is so frustrating. i cannot use any soap, shampoo or lotion on him. Not even the "special" ones from the dermatologist. I use cheer free on his clothes. I use a cortizone cream that is a rx. he has good days and bad days. His skin gets so rough and red sometimes. the dr says he may out grow some of it, I hope so. I found the more lotion I use the drier he got. Things i found that work: vaseline and vitamin e oil. vasilene brand has a combo of these two in a cream that has kind of worked for me. if you have found anything that works for you or need support (when people treat you like you are doing this to your child) email me.

I have basically cured my excema after having it since i was 5 years old. I would try ANYTHING
and finally formulated some non prescription.
It really works. I have been testing it on others for over two years and it works for them. I have just started marketing it. If you are interested e-mail me @ pcooper@bluecrab.org
I am now 38 years old and began an extremely stressful job as a financial advisor. I thought
being under all this new stress would make me break out again but it hasn't and my skin has never looked better. or you can write to me at 310 Teal Court, Chester, MD 21619
