It sounds like you're doing everything precisely right. That's exactly what we do, with the exception of the bottle (Hanna's 13 months old and doesn't take a bottle before bed anymore.) How long does he go before he wakes up? Have you tried giving him water from a sippy cup instead of the bottle? That's probably what I would do at this point, assuming he'll use a sippy cup. If he will, try this: when he cries, go in his room after a 5 minutes or so, pick him up, calm him down, let him drink as much water as he wants, and then put him back down and leave the room. He'll probably be pretty mad about it for a couple of nights but eventually he'll get the idea that he's just not going to get that bottle anymore. Hannah had those wakings for a few weeks or a month after we stopped her nighttime bottle but after a few nights I would only have to go in, give her a sip of water, and put her back down. She would go right back to sleep. Eventually she stopped waking entirely. ...now if I could just get her to sleep past 5:45am :(
