: I know this is a touchy subject on the board and we all have VERY different opinions, but now I am really confused. It sure as hell would be a lot easier and cheaper to get my almost nine month old to drink milk instead of formula. Everything I've read and every doctor I've spoken to (including my cousin who is a pediatrician) tell me to give baby formula until age 1. They all say that breastmilk is best for the first year, and the closest substitute to that is formula. I gave my first child wholemilk when she was 12 and a half months old. : Any more opinions/ideas/information? Hey Marie, Just like I told Sue earlier...I started Madie (8mos) on whole milk a couple of weeks ago. She is not fully on it yet, I still use formula mostly with her, but she does have 1 6oz. milk bottle a day. I was giving her yogurt at 6mos. she tolerates the milk just fine...And a real no no that I did (I didn't even think about it at the time) was gave her strawberry yogurt. Thank God she didn't have a reaction to it. So my girl is pretty set to go with whole milk and strawberries...LOL! Any rate, by 9mos she will be fully on whole milk. Hope I helped. Jenn
