: My little girl is a week and 4 days old and she sleeps all day long, I mean to the point where I have to wake her up for feedings and my Dh nicknamed her "letargic baby". The problem is, she is awake at night instead and no matter how hard we try to put her to sleep, it doesn't work! She has her eyes wide open and seem to want to play. Has anyone had the same problem with their baby and how did you fix it? Thanks, Sally 2

When i had my second daughter she was the exact same, I swear i could have thrown her the window i was tried suffered baby blues etc she drove me mad lol.
We tried waking her every hour or so during the day so once night time came she was tired she got a bit grumpy but it seemed to work after about a week or so, at night she would sleep on the avarage of 3-4 hours.
It does get better when they get a bit older you just got to teach them night from day.
From 8 weeks old my little girl was sleeping 7 hours a night stright through.

Congratlations on the birth of your new daughter!
Don't get too stressed it wont last forever.

Best wishes & good luck
Kelly M
