I don't have bunk beds- but my parents do. They have set up the top bunk like a college loft. Underneith they have a crib and toddler bed (for my kids when they visit). When my kids get old enough, they'll put the other bed underneith (like in the shape of an L) and there will be room for the toddler bed next to the twin bed.
