Since your kids are premie's and one has weight issues, I wouldn't give any pedialyte unless ordered by your doctor. My guess is that your kids are drinking neosure (similac), is that correct? Unless they are dehydrated (feel the inside of their mouths to feel if they are sticky-- if yes than they could be dehydrated), they don't need pedialyte- it's just electrolyte pumped up water without much nutrient/calorie value.
