I have a few questions for everyone, really. My ds is 14 mos and they are testing him for neurofibromatosis (which involves learning disabilities). I want to know about speech development and if this sounds common. First off the only words he has said is: momma, dada, and hotdog... LMAO! He has stopped saying dada (for nearly two months). He will mumble mama all the time for no reason. Otherwise he doesn't associate words with objects. He has never attempted to say anything else. Is this normal? I know some children don't speak until later, but shouldn't he be trying to make more sounds of letters, etc? Thanks in advance! We have his 15 month check up in two weeks and I am wondering if I should say anything about this or not.
