Kelly- Like you, I have diabetes coming at my kids from both sides. Diabetes can be hereditary, and my doctor told me to go ahead and have my kids tested. The test that was done on my kids was one that looks for if the child is likely to develop diabetes later in there life, as well as if they have it now. It can't hurt to have them tested, it's just a blood test (at least that's the one I had done). Sorry I don't have a lot of info for you, but I hope this helps some. Good luck! Kelli
