The only thing I can say is that it gets easier the older your baby gets. Mine is 6 months old now. One suggestion, if you and your husband have a problem with how your inlaws watch your baby, have your husband talk to them and tell them it's your way or no way. I think if it comes from him you are not made out to be the bad guy. If they don't want to follow your rules then do not have them watch your baby. Eventually they will do it your way, because they will want to see their grandbaby. Remember you are the mother, basically you hold all of the cards. I hope this doesn't come off sounding mean. But I did this a couple times with my mother in law, and she now knows I am the boss. Good luck! Please keep me updated!! I feel your pain. It doesn't help that my in-laws are 80 years old either. There is NO way I am leaving my ds (who is 13 months now) with them. If you don't feel comfortable, don't have them babysit. You won't enjoy your time away anyway.
