I am so terribly sorry about your grandfather. If he is refusing any type of treatment including blood transfusions, etc., I would keep him at home to be with him as much as possible. He needs plenty of love with somebody at his side at all times. If he indeed is having internal bleeding, I think he would probably have about a few weeks left.

I personally think Hospice is cruel and would never do that to any of my family members especially knowing the way some nurses really treat Hospice patients and don't seem to really care. That would really break my heart! I would definitely keep him at home and have a nurse go out to provide comfort care measures like morphine through the IV or he could have a morphine pump where he could push the button when needed.

I wish you and your family the best. I know it is going to be tough, but always remember that he won't be suffering anymore.
