: I am not trying to scare anyone, just trying to help people to be a little more cautious about deciding whether to take medication while being pregnant or not, that's all. These are facts. Sometimes it is not caused by the mother and sometimes it is caused by medications. I have seen it happen and in my job and I worked with many geneticists and also learned that it can be caused by medication, not all the time as I had made it clear. By the way, my husband is a geneticist who works for one of the top hospitals who has received many awards of recognition and also is a nuclear medicine radiologist and he also has told me that it can be caused by medication also. I did make it clear that not in all cases. That is fine if you don't want to believe it. I won't waste my time on this board anymore. I try to give facts and then I am told it is not true. I am a very honest person. If I am not sure about something, I will say it, but when I am positive as I am now, it is because I really have proof. Of course many doctors will prescribe medications. There are some that don't really even care and will give medications. Just like some doctors who will keep prescribing narcotics to patients. I feel medication during pregnancy should only be taken if absolutely necessary. I have come to realize that I am just wasting my time here.
I don't think doctors would be carelessly prescribing medication to pregnant women and not caring when they know they could find themselves in a HUGE lawsuit for medical malpractice. I mean the US is known for it's abundance of lawsuits, left, right, and center. People sue for every little thing, so I really don't think a doctor is going to practice so negligently knowing he could be sued.
