daughter has just recently been diagnosed with excema. When she was younger, we could watch the rash appear on the back of her hands.. It would grow red, puff up sometimes to the point of cracking and bleeding, right before our eyes. We could never get a diagnosis because by the time i could get her into the doctor's office, the rash had cleared. Having a diagnosis is great! My daughter was put on a cream that works great! Also, we found that cold gel packs work as well. If we catch it as soon as the rash starts appearing, the cold keeps the imflamation to a minimum. For Rene her outbreaks can be very painful. Is this common? She has a specific excema as well as generalized excema. I had never thought about water aggravating it, however there are a lot of times when Rene takes a bath and gets out with burning skin.
