Breastfeeding question

I am expecting my second child in a few days. My first is six & a half years old. I plan to nurse my baby for 6 months or more. I tried to explain the concept of breastfeeding vaguely to my older child so that she doesn't get too shocked if she sees me doing it. She couldn't believe it at first. My question is, how do I approach the act or subject of nursing with a child that age. Should I make sure I nurse only when she is not around (which will be impossible given a newborn's demands) or should I just do it anywhere and anytime in the house and be prepared for awkward stares and questions? Has anyone faced such a situation?
