MY 6 month old is a monster! HELP!

My son just turned 6 months and he has suddenly turned into this little monster. When i go to get him out of his crib in the morning he used to give me this huge smile and lay his head on my shoulder. Now he scrunches his face together and digs his fingers into my face and claws at my nose. He loves to rip up the paper like a new puppy would. Also, when I put him in his car seat he screams and arches his body so I can't buckle him in. I say to him "No. Be Nice." But i know he doesnt have a clue what I'm saying. I'm just so afraid this behavior is just going to get worse. I say to my husband all the time...I think we have alot of time outs in our future. Is this normal?
