: We adopted a baby girl from Russia just a little over a year ago. It the Orphanage all the kids were trained by 18 months. Sure the had some problems. But, Every two hours just sit him on a small Potty (A small bucket type not the seat type) Every Two hours and make them stay there till Their for 15 minutes. The kids all knew they were not to get up till they went. And it worked. A friend of mine is trying something like this on her baby- only she started at two months of age! She takes off the child's diaper and has the baby over the toilet. She holds the baby there for at least a minute- several times a day. She did this over several weeks to "train" the baby. And now that the baby is 8 months old- he doesn't wear more than a small nappie. But, this takes a lot of patience and dedication to stay on a very rigid schedule. I have 3 kids and wouldn't consider doing this. Diapers aren't that bad.
