I think not all but most babies go through this stage. They will eventually grow out of it, especially when they become more mobile/independent. I think of it this way, they are only babies once, treasure the time that you can hold them. They grow up so quickly and you don't want to look back and regret not spending more time or being able to cuddle them. Everyday chores can wait and aren't that important. They can be done gradually when baby is napping or daddy/grandparents/friends are entertaining them. If daddy is there he can help. I had to work hard for my child(took years to get pregnant-pregnancy problems, we both almost didn't make it) so I treasure every moment I can cuddle with her. This is all my personal opinion. Good luck, he will grow out of it soon.
