: I just had a baby 1 month ago and i watch him constantly, i am so afraid that something is going to happen to him. I don't get much sleep at night because i am afraid that when i wake up he will not be breathing and i have become really exhausted. Did anyone go through that when there kids were newborns and how do i get through it? You're talking to the biggest worry-wart in the world, When my son was a newborn, just checking to see if he was breathing wasn't enough for me, I touched him and nudged him, very gently to be sure he moved. It's a natural thing mommy's do. It phazed out with me after the 3 month mark and the risk of SIDS went down. I still check on him and always will, but not nearly as much, and I'm not so paranoid now. I don't touch him or nudge him, now I peek my head in the door-way, and listen to his little snores, it's very cute. Get some sleep and congrats on your little boy! ----------------------Jamie
