I check in on my 6-month-old Hannah a couple of times before I go to bed and if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night (assuming she's not the one that woke me). It's completely normal to look in on them. These days my checks are just to look at her because she's so beautiful. Side note -- I'll never forget our first night in the hospital after she was born. My wife (almost literally) passed out at about 8pm. I was able to stay in the room but I was terrified to go to sleep. I ended up sitting and staring at Hannah and listening to her breath for about 2-3 hours until the nurse came in to wake my wife to breastfeed and to take the baby to have tests run. That's when I passed out. I slept so hard that the nurse couldn't wake me when she brought Hannah back! Honestly, this will pass for you .. particularly after 3 months.
