Your son isn't likely to go longer than he is for a while and in reality probably SHOULDN'T go any longer than that. Babies have small stomachs and most can't go any longer than 3.5 to 4 hours in between feedings. For the most part they go 2-3 hours. Be thankful that you're getting what you're getting and don't expect him to go through the night for a while. If he does you've got one of those rare babies that most mothers dream about.
