My husband and I bought a sounds and movement monitor and have slept very well ever since. It sounds an alarm if the baby ever stops moving (breathing). The only drawback is that if the baby moves to a corner of the crib and is off the monitor pad the alarm will go off. This has only happened about 5 times in the 11 months our daughter has been with us.

We had actually originally looked at the video monitors, but the picture quality isn't that great and I wouldn't want to sit in front of the TV all night or stay up watching it while I should be sleeping. You cna't really se breathing on there well anyway.

You can find these at Amazon.com, Babiesrus and other stores for about $99. Just make sure you get the one with the sound and movement and not just movement. That way you don't need a lot of monitors, just the one.
