: : Most breastfed babies need to nurse every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, rarely do you hear of breastfed babies going 3+ hours between feedings. Breastmilk is easily digested & that's why they need to eat more often. My daughter (5 pounds at birth) put on a pound every 12 days for the first few months. As for the sleeping, a 3 hour stretch for a 5 week old sounds pretty good. He'll sleep longer as he gets older. Hang in there. : Thanks Angela, You will. My daughter weaned at 11 months (she breastfed exclusively for 6 months) all by herself. She just didn't want to do it anymore. I was planning on weaning at 12 months so it's not like it was a big deal. I do miss it though. I miss the closeness. Enjoy it now.

: I thought it was probably normal for a 7 weeker! My neighbor questioned it this morning, however her baby is bottle-fed. I actually don't mind the constant nursing and am told I'll come to miss it. :)
