If this started recently maybe she is having separation anxiety. This typically occurs between 9-12 months of age. At first children don't want to leave the touch of their mother or primary care giver, then they will leave but must have mom in sight, then they realize mom is around somewhere, I think this is probably a stage she is going through and will eventually grow out of it. Good luck with it.
