Hi Debbie; My now 5 year old is a head butter too. He does it to me and my husband. It used to only be to me. Zac does it when things aren't going his way and he is feeling frustrated and also when he is feeling too hyper and doesn't know how to deal with all of the extra energy. I hope he grows out of it. He started at around a year and a half old. Zac is just now beginning to realize that it hurts me a lot, hopefully your little guy will realize it sooner and stop. Good luck and take care Lori
