: Hi. I had my first doc. visit on Friday and to my suprise they did an vaginal ultra sound. The doctor told me she does that for all first visits, to find a heartbeat, and make sure that the baby is in the uterus. Anyway she found a heartbeat, which she said was strong. But she then told me that I was about a week and a half behind what they thought based on my LMP. I am not sure how this could be becuase my DH and I used an ovulation kit and I know when I ovulated. According to that date I should be at 7 weeks gestation tomorrow, but the doctor is saying it appears that I am only 6 weeks. She also said that she could not give me a due date until she did a second ultra sound in 2 weeks to get a better idea of how far along I am. I don't have that long of a cycle, between 29-31 days, so I am really confused about the discrepency. Has anyone else encountered this? And has anyone not been given a due date because of this? She kept saying everything was fine, but it has made me wonder. Thanks for any advice.
when i first went to the doc according to my LMP i was 12 1/2 weeks but they found no heartbeat so therefore they did a vaginal US and come to find out i was only 10 weeks so its nothing to worry about. conception happens when it happens so you cant really go by ovalation kits at times. just be glad that everything is fine and will be fine. :o)
