Ofcourse it is a vegetable, but not a very good one! It comes in a can (jar) so not only it contains a lot of salt, it also contains preservatives. a lot of women crave pickles during pregnancy and no one died or hurt their baby by eating it. So just eat as much as you want and watch out for water retention (caused by the salt). Sally 2
