Wendy, yes this board if for questions. It is just that to most people a question about pickles seems to have an obvious answer. There are food that you shouldn't eat during pregnancy but other than those, everything is pretty much safe. Here is an article about foods you are not supposed to eat:

Foods To Avoid In Pregnancy

Caffeine: Most studies show that caffeine intake in moderation is okay. As a general rule, caffeine should be limited to fewer than 300mg per day. Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it helps eliminate fluids from the body. This can result in water and calcium loss. It is important that you are drinking plenty of water, juice, and milk rather than caffeinated beverages.
Some research shows that large amounts of caffeine are associated with miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, and withdrawal symptoms in infants.

Alcohol: There is no amount of alcohol that is known to be safe during pregnancy, and therefore alcohol should be avoided during pregnancy. Prenatal exposure to alcohol can interfere with the healthy development of the baby. Depending on the amount, timing, and pattern of use, alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or other developmental disorders. If you consumed alcohol before you knew you were pregnant, stop drinking now. Abstaining from alcohol for the rest of your pregnancy can have a beneficial effect even on functions that might have been affected by earlier drinking.

Fish: Fish is an excellent choice for a healthy diet. However, many fish may contain mercury or industrial pollutants. Check with your health department or the Environmental Protection Agency for advice on the safety of fish from local waters.
During pregnancy, it is best to avoid game fish such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish. These may also contain high levels of a form of mercury called methyl mercury that can affect an unborn baby’s developing nervous system. Canned fish and shellfish should be limited to less than 12 ounces per week. Both contain small amounts of mercury and consumed in excess can lead to mercury poisoning in an unborn child.

Herbal remedies: Don’t take anything without checking with your health care provider.
Goldenseal, mugwort, and penny royal are all associated with uterine contractions and should be avoided.

Food poisoning: This is especially dangerous during pregnancy. The listeria bacterium can cause a serious infection leading to miscarriage or stillbirth. To reduce the risk, it is best to:
• Avoid dairy products that have not been pasteurized
• Avoid Soft cheeses such as brie, feta, Camembert, Roquefort, and Mexican-style
• Avoid raw or animal foods (meat, sushi, seafood, or eggs)
• Wash raw vegetables before cooking
• Heat leftovers or ready-to-eat foods (like hot dogs) thoroughly
• Thoroughly wash hands, cutting boards, utensils with soap and water after handling raw meat, poultry, or seafood

Liver: There is some concern about the amounts of vitamin A in liver. Large amounts of vitamin A have the potential to pose a risk to an unborn baby. The safest approach is to avoid your consumption of liver.
