Made appt. with the midwife... What will happen and are the appts. diff. than OB/GYN?

Next Tuesday is our (aww, I'm no longer "me" or "my", it's now "us", and "our" hehehe. I tease my boyfriend telling him "we're" hungry instead of just me ;-) first appointment with our midwife. I decided to go with one instead of a OB.

What will happen with the midwife, and are their appointments done any differently than an OB? Just wondering what to expect for our first appointment.
