My doctor wouldn't let me get my hair done until I was in my seventh month. I had some awful looking roots by then too. She was concerned with the chemicals and the fumes. Also, in my past life I used to run a salon supply company and we always recommended that women DID NOT perm or color while pregnant. I have seen some messed up hair because people didn't heed our advice. Also, the pre-natal vits cause problems with coating the hairshaft and interferes with the chemical reaction needed to perm and color. See what your doc says.
