That's incredible! Just last night at a church function, one of the ladies there was telling me that she's have a baby herself anyday over having to watch her daughter go through it. She said she felt so helpless and just wanted to take her place.
DH and I haven't even talked about my mom being with me. I know my mom would love to, but for our first I was thinking it might be better if it was just the two of us. I'm not sure, yet. Was your mom or dad at your other children's births???
: The only major change was that I wimped out and took the epidural. My labor was induced at 6:15 a.m. (Pitocin) and by 9:00 a.m. I was in serious pain. Received the epidural at 9:20 and started pushing at 9:35. Emilie was here at 9:52 a.m. (total labor, just over 3.5 hours!)
: Yes, both of my parents were in the room, right behind DH. My OB is really cool and was fine with me having 3 support people.
: It was so special for me to have my parents there. My mom went with us when we had our high res. u/s and it was the first time she had ever seen a baby born (believe me, there is a difference between having a baby and watching on being born--last July 11, I helped deliver my DH's cousin's baby (!!) while being assisted by my really cool OB!!
: The hospital staff honored all of our wishes. It was great.

: : WOW! That's an amazing birthing plan. I feel very similarly to what your plan outlines. Did they allow your parents in with you, as well? How close did things actually go to the plan? What were the unexpected changes?
: : Thanks so much!
