No, this was the first time that they were with me.
My first daughter, Paige, was a result of date rape. The guy that I was seeing after I got pregnant was with me for her birth. Unfortunately, he couldn't handle someone else being put before him, so we broke up.
With my second daughter, Cassidy, my mom and dad kept Paige. I didn't deliver until after midnight and since it was DH's first biological child, we decided to do this one by ourselves (although both sets of parents hung out in my room during labor.)
My mom and dad were with me when I miscarried last May.
This time around, since they were there, DH and I decided the morning that I was induced that they could stay for delivery if they wanted to. In fact, there was no time, nor any room, for them to leave the room when it was time to push. They stood in the corner behind DH, held hands, watched and prayed the whole time. I actually found it easier to concentrate on what I was doing with them in the room (always trying to be the good child!!).
