Hi, Jenny. Geez, it's getting pretty hard to find any posts on this board amidst the anonymous stuff. Anyway, I was flipping through posts and saw yours. I think it's pretty rare that women get pg on the IUD, but it does happen. My DH was conceived while his mother had an IUD in. I don't know anybody else that has happened to, though. I had an IUD for 7 years and nothing ever happened to me that way. If you suspect you're pregnant, take a test. Pregnancy with an IUD in can be tricky. It can puncture things (not to scare you), or it can cause infections. It also is a big cause of ectopic pregnancies. So if you strongly suspect pregnancy, take a test so you can consult your doctor. But again, I think it's extremely rare. Even if an egg were able to fertilize, it would be very, very difficult for it to implant with the presence of the coil in the uterus.
Good luck!
Mels
