Feeling better about weight gain thanks to this board...

I am starting to feel so much better about the whole "weight issue".

My ob said the stupidest thing EVER to me...that I should only gain 12 lbs thru my pregnancy and I was like "oh great" since i have been dieting like crazy before becoming pg to lose 37 pounds.

The LAST thing I want to do during pregnancy is obsess about weight gain! I am NOT going to "diet" SHEESH that could realy hurt my baby!

But ALAS I am doing just that!!!

My pre pregnancy diet was low carb...no "junk" foods, no refined sugar...no pie or cake or anything...

So, in the beginning, there was no issue with avoiding these foods.

The issue became HOW do I add in higher carb foods (like fruits and whole grains) without PACKING ON the pounds!??!??!

I was doing okay, eating very well balanced, until I realized my baby is an "icecream-a-holic"!

So i would eat some icecream and basically starve myself the rest of the day out of fear of gaining too much weight!

I have come to the conclusion that my OB is not there when the only thing that sounds edible is a snickers ice cream bar and she can go fly a kite as long as I am also eating a balanced diet with pleanty of proteins and other "good for you" foods. I am drinking at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day and I get exercise. I am not going to stress about a dish of ice cream now and then!!!

It is just not worth it!
